Where We Go In The Future Is Determined
By Where We Have Been In The Past.

Saudi Arabia’s traditional costumes are as diverse as its provinces, reflecting the rich cultural heritage and historical significance of each region. Here’s a outline of the traditional costumes of each province, emphasising their unique characteristics and historical context.

Eastern Region (Al-Ahsa and Al-Qatif)

Banu Khalid

The Banu Khalid tribe has historically controlled large parts of eastern Arabia, including Al-Ahsa and the coastal areas of the Persian Gulf. They were known for their prowess in battle and their strategic alliances. The tribe played a significant role in the region’s trade and politics before the establishment of the Saudi state. Located primarily in the Al-Ahsa region.

Al-Murrah

The Al-Murrah tribe is known for their nomadic lifestyle, traditionally moving across the vast deserts of eastern Arabia. They are experts in desert survival and have a deep knowledge of the arid landscape. The Al-Murrah tribe has maintained a strong sense of identity and cultural heritage despite the challenges of modernity. Located in the Eastern province, extending into the Rub’ al Khali (Empty Quarter).
